My name is Brooke Rich. I truly enjoy working with children and families. I have a M.Ed in Counselor Education and started my career working in schools as a counselor. I enjoyed my work as a school counselor yet found myself wanting to dive more into the health and wellness side of things. I became curious about pediatric nursing which lead me to complete my BSN in 2011. I worked as a floor nurse at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital for some time before returning back to the school setting as a school nurse. My name is Shannon Sampson. I am so happy to have the privilege of working with the wonderful students and families of Morse Street School!
I earned my BSN from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 1999. I started my nursing career at Maine Medical Center, where I worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for nine years. As my family began to grow, I decided to take a break from nursing to be home with my two young boys. The opportunity to share the nursing role at Morse Street School was the perfect way for me to re-enter the nursing profession. I enjoy working with young children and find it very rewarding!

Nursing Office Reminders
Please remember to complete the Student Health History form each year. Please make sure that the health office has a copy of your child’s most recent immunization records. If your child does not have all the required immunizations an exemption letter needs to be completed, the state law mandates this form to be completed each year.
It is required that all Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten & Transfer Students have a physical exam by a medical provider upon enrollment. Please make sure that the health office has a copy of the Student Physical Exam for your child.
For ALL over the counter medicines, our policy states a medical provider must prescribe these medications in order for them to be given at school. If your child has a condition that warrants over the counter medicine frequently please speak with your provider to obtain a prescription to help us comply with this policy. These medications need to come to school with an adult and in the original containers.
Medications should be given at home whenever possible. In the event your child requires medicine at school you must complete the Medication Administration Permission Form and bring the medicine in the original bottle.
Medical/Allergy Plans need to be updated each year. If your child has a medical condition or severe allergy that requires a health plan please speak with your provider to obtain an updated plan each school year. We cannot use the plan from the previous year, and will assume your child no longer has the need for the plan.
